My IRA Choice

I recently switched my IRA to a Vanguard S&P 500 index fund. I'm pessimistic that I could find the following:

1) Mutual fund that has outperformed the S&P 500 in the last 10 and 20 year periods.
2) Mutual fund that accomplished 1) and still has the same managment and investment strategy.
3) Mutual fund that has 2) the is still appropriate in this economic climate.
4) Mutual fund that could do 1) accounting for the extra fees mutual funds have.

Warren Buffett and Bill Miller come to mind however one has to wonder how much longer they will retain control of their respective investments or if their excellent performance will end.
